I'm learning about hashtags and their application in Twitter and abroad. Here's some general info about their use in Twitter:
Twitter's search can find any word whether or not it has a hash tag...but, hashtags are not rendered useless in search.twitter.com, because you can still search for "#" or #hashtags (ie."#seinfeld)
Here's one example:
I used Twitter search to find out what hashtag/s people are using for president's day. I found out that more people are using #presidentsday than #presidents, #quotes, and #day--although some people are using these terms.
Also, I found that the people using less specific terms like #day and #quotes are talking about a wide variety of things, rather than one specific thing (#presidentsday).
I hope you've learned something. I have :)

New Year's trip to the Keys
(12/26 - approx 3:45pm)
I'm leaving from St.Albans, WV and heading to Florida with my cousin Adam. We are unsure of our final destination, which may be the Everglades, Key West or somewhere in between. Our first stop is Asheville, North Carolina aka Hippie Hollywood as described by Adam who is a former resident and avid fan. From there we're heading to St. Petersburg to visit my friend Dave Tucker, a former WV native and high school friend of mine.
Updates will be difficult for most of the trip, but I will make attempts to do quick edits and post things as they come along. Also, I plan on having a good time so I'll try not to let that get in the way too much.
I will be posting video and pictures, if not throughout the trip, then when I return.
And now, I'm off to Asheville...
12/29 - 1:45pm
Were on our way from St. Petersburg to Bahia Honda Key.
Our plan:
Tomorrow we'll make our way to Big Pine Key and the lower key area where we plan on staying for the most of 2 days. We'll reach Key West on the 31st, stay there for New Year's Eve...then return home.
